Sweetie Pie.............

Well, after a lot of distressing( which I love to do), I decided to do a bright and cheerful page. This is for a challenge at www.debscreations.net.au by Mandy

The challenge says:

1. 2 photos any size

2. Paint3. Metal

4. string/cotton- of any description

PLUSWhatever else you want to add...

I love Rosa Moka papers, bright colors with some splash of paint on them. Very cheerful papers. This time I just collected all bright items together and then pick the matching pieces and decided to make a layout with them. No sketch and no planning. But I made sure I had a metal piece and a string in them. Of course the paint as well.

Description of the layout:

1. I started with a white card stock. Placed my DD's two photos at an angle using the foam dots, right in the centre of the cardstock.

2. I then place a black lace on the bottom of the photos

3. I used Basic Grey Urban Pairie chipboard sticker piece on the left side of the photo. On the rightside I used a Bella journalling tag again using foam dots. The journalling tag is wrapped around using a string and a metal heart clip hanging from the string.

4. I then trimmed the white cardstock to a smaller size. and rounded the corners. I used brown, green, yellow and pink water color on the bottom corners as borders and on the the right top corner as well.

5. The title is from Bella chipboard stickers and the journalling says"Its your beauty that captures my attention but its your personality that captures my heart." I love this quote because it is so true with my DD.

6. The other elements such the butterflies and the flowers are from apack I bought from Kmart. They have nice bright color and glitter on them. The birdie is from Basic Grey Urban Pairie Chipboard stickers. The large pink flower is from Heidi Swapp and the velvet gathered green flower is from Maya Road.

7. I finally placed the trimmed white card stock on Rosa Moka Appel De La nature Grande Envolee pattern paper.I liked it bright, simple and cheerful all that is so true of my DD as well.

Tupperware Party

Yesterday, I had been to a tupperware party.

Saw the new catalogue and Goodness me!! they have gone back to that dirty yellow color again. Yuk!! I hate that color.

I liked them in nice and bright colors.
Easy to make my kids identify them and get it to me when I want it and simiarly for my husband too. Other than the primary colors my DS and DH are blind to rest of them. lol!!!!

Anyway, I did order a few boxes to store my dhals and rice in them. and a mystery gift as well! So now most of you know my order was above a certain price hehehhe!!

I love the spice set they have and cranberry color is awesome.I have them and I have ordered another set as gift when I go home to meet my parents and SIL.They will love it.

I did do a bit of scrapping yesterday. Had this handmade page swapp at http://www.debscreations.net.au/ and I completed my page for the swapp.

I cannot put it up now because my layout have to reach my swapp person and she has to see it first. Otherwise the element of surprise is lost you see!!!

Hopefully by next week I will put it up. And also my designing a kit for http://www.uproar2scrapmore.com.au/ will also be up.

All exciting news now. I have started my projects for http://www.scrapncraftwitht.com.au/ Shhhh!! I am not telling anymore for now.

................................

It is using a new release paper!!!!!!! I have made a sketch and choosen the paper and embellies. Waiting for the parcel to arrive...........

Ok I did make a layout out of a sketch. I will show you.
This is the sketch from stucksketches

Boring day yesterday at work!!!!!!

Yesterday, I had to finish all paper work at work. Not only mine but the doctor's as well!!! Poor Traci, my admin staff had to put all the notes into the data system in the computer and nothing has been done by the doctor. I offered to help her out with it. It is boring to sit and do the paper work. I prefer clinical work all times.
Went to pick up kids from school and found out my DS had fallen down hard on the road at school and hurt his knees and sprained his wrist. Oh poor thing, this is the first time he has fallen hard and hurt himself. He was in real pain for the first time. lol!! Moreover, having fallen in front of girls and friends, ego hurts like mad. So lot of cuddly time at home and my DD gets jealous. Lol!!!!
Some Rice and Dhal for dinner and off to bed for them.
No good programs on TV last night. So went blog hopping. There are some real cool blogs. I will keep adding them to my list.
I finally found Tim Holtz's applicator and have bought them. Waiting for the delivery. Watching the post daily............ Hope it comes today.
I am preparing for this weekend's cybercrop at www.uproar2scrapmore.com.au Anybody wanting to scrap their holidays please register yourself. Starts 28th's November till 30th november. Plenty of games, fun and challenges. Theme is "The great Outdoors".
Next two weeks I have my social calender filled with parties and dinner from school and friends. Think most of yours will also be.
Mine starts today with a tupperware party. Hope I do not spend too much today........... Hope not....
Ok thats it for today.
Have a nice day

Well, I am so happy. So happy......... Feel like jumping up and down.
I am currently sitting in front of my screen grinning.

Wow!! I can't believe myself. I had the determination to fix it.
I just did not give up at all and I did fix it without any help (Well had the internet though!).

I need to celebrate it. Off to eat lunch.

Have a nice day.

Addicted 2................

I made this layout titled " Addicted 2...." for two challenges

Challenge 1, is Elle's challenge on www.debscreations.net.au

The challenge said:
My theme is "addicted!"
everyone has something they just cannot live without in their lives....so i want you to scrap about it!!!
the only proviso......it cannot be related to anything scrapbooking related sorry kids, i know we are all addicted to this, so i want to know what else you are addicted to
requirements are pretty simple:
1. you must incorporate some blue cardstock into your LO
2. the title must be med to large in size and include the word 'addicted'
3. at least two pics, any size you want
4. some scalloping on the page
5. some paint must grace the page as well, but it can be as much or as little as you want, plus you MUST add some glitter paint (ie. kindy glitz or similar)

Challenge 2, is a sketch challenge from http://roadmaps.aussiepubcalls.com.au/
I have used this sketch for Elle's challenge.
I had multiple photos and this sketch was perfect.

This is my take on the challenges:

Description of the layout:

1. Background is a coredination black card stock.
2. I then used a solid blue color card stock and cut 2 long rectangles with scalloped edges, with my DD's fancy scissors. These pieces of papers are distressed on the edges with Tim Holtz's Brushed Corduroy distress ink. Then, used a piece of bubble wrap and black paint and painted on the blue pieces of card stock.
3. I printed mini photos of my addictions, my kids, coffee, my shoes, shopping bags for shopping and a picture of myself.
4. I used K & Company Blue Awning paper and cut out the flourishes. I highlighted these flourishes using Kindy Glitz Aqua glitter glue.
5.The flowers are from Prima and Green Tara with brads in the middle. The wooden flourishes are from Kaiser.
6. I have arranged all the pieces as per the sketch and used Heidi Swapp Blue Ocean Alphas for the title "addicted 2" and a chipboard arrow dressed with Kindy Glitz Aqua glitter glue to point at the photos.
7. I have used on Bella black chipboard heart shape near the photo of myself with my children to symbolise "love"
8. Using a white metallic pen, I have handdrawn the border and Kindy Glitz Slick White for the dots around the blue pieces of cardstock.

Here are couple of close ups.

Finally I finished...

designing my kit for the competition at www.uproar2scrapmore.com.au

It was good but took a long time as a lot of things were happening at the same time and I had to complete it little by little.
I generally complete a layout at one go. I cannot keep it and come back later to finish it off.
I will loose the interest on it!!! Thats why it was tough for me.

Unfortunately I will not be able to publish it now.
Maybe next month after the results are out.
So you just have to wait. Suspense hun!!

The one I am working on it is something fun.
Multiple photos and a great theme.
Wait until tomorrow!

Now goodnight.

Here are a few random photos for you

Masking Technique...

Some of you had asked me about the masking technique I have been using in my layouts. Its the opposite of stamping.

Description:

1. Take your desired shape out of scrap paper. Any shape- circles, squares, tags, negative of alphas or even roughly torn scrap paper.

2. Place it where you want to mask. Example, I have used a tag cut out of a pattern paper and placed it on a white scrap paper. I want the inside of the white paper to be blank to write in it. But you could place your mask where you want to in the layout.Even over the ribbon, flower, photo etc., Basically, you are covering the area you want to be untouched and working around it.

3.Then use your desired color ink and dabb around the mask. I have used makeup sponge and distress ink from Tim Holtz.

4. Remove the mask piece and here is the awesome effect around the masked area.

I use it mainly to distress, produce extra layer without adding another piece of pattern paper.

In "Pretty in Pink" layout, I used the negative of a diecut flourish and dabbed the ink to get the flourish on the layout.

There are endless ways to use this technique.

So have fun.

Here are some photos to show you how it is done.

Edge Distresser!

I had mentioned in one my posts about Heidi Swapp Edge Distresser.
Here is the picture of it.
Just run through the edges of the paper and the paper gets frayed to give the distress look. You can ink the edges too if you want.
Perfect for heritage or distress look or even to help the paper pop up in the layout.
Not expensive and easy to use.
So check it uout with your local shop.
And have fun with a new look to your layout.

Pretty in Pink......

Hi everybody,

How has your day been today?

Mine so far is prettty good. Just got time during work to draw two sketches and determine the pps and embellishment for the sketches. This is for designing a kit comeptition at www.uproar2scrapmore.com.au.

Ok coming to this layout. I made this layout last night for www.tearbears.com.au photo swapp. My partner is Tracey. Wahoooo!! I recieved Tracey's photo 2 days back and got it printed out yesterday afternoon. Such a lovely girl looking pretty in her pink cardi.. She is Tracey's DD. Love portrait photos. They are easy to work with.

Description of the layout:

1. I edited the photo using Picasa software. Added color, some glow after sharpening it. Printed it out in Kmart to 5x7 size. I then matted the photo on a black cardstock.

2. I immediately knew that, I wanted a black base. So the I chose the black cardstock from cordination and then distressed the edges slightly. No inking here.

3. I handcut a semi circle with scalloped edges out of Pink Paislee Office Lingo Casual Friday paper. I placed it on the base and inked the edges around using Brilliance Dew Drp Pearl Golden Ink and Versa Color Camellia ink. This provided a glow like appearance.

4. The pattern paper under the photo is Crate paper from my stash which is hand torn and inked with Versa Colour Camelia Ink and curled. I then placed the photo in the middle of the PP using foam dots

5. I have used a circle cut out of transperency as a base and a golden circular frame and Bella chipboard flower on top and finally a Kaiser Pink Pearl in the middle of the flower. The other two flowers are also from Bella and one has a pattern paper cut into a circle as a base and the other has a circular golden frameas its base. The transperency circle has Kindy Glitz Slick White dots around the perimeter.

6. The flourishes are from my stash. They received a shower of Glimmer Mist Meadow green to give the shimmering effect. I have also hand stitched in the corners of the scalloped edges and also a few cross stitched on the left hand side of the pattern paper.

7. I have used masking technique here with two different color inks. I used the negative of the Green flourish to do the masking. I used Brilliance Dew Drop Pearl Golden Ink on the black base and Brilliance Dew Drop Pearl Black Ink on the corner of the photo.

8. Alphas are from Pink Paislee Black stickers. The butterfly is from Bella Chipboard Stickers.

Any question please email me. I will try and answer to my best.

I loved making this layout and I should say that after I chose the base and pattern paper, everything else just started falling into its place.

Here are few closeups.

Pocket Boy......

My 3rd DT layout for http://www.uproar2scrapmore.com.au/ It is simple one. Not very fancy techniques used.

I have used leftover scraps of paper from Fancy Pants About a Boy kit, to make this layout.

Description of the layout:

1. I actually used the white cardstock as the base and had 3 scraps of Fancy Pants, About a Boy paper Expression, Vivid and Wild child papers which are all distressed on the edges and layered.

2. The photo is of my DS taken in June this year at Niagara Falls. After all the adventure, he was tired and found a spot to sit and started to play his Pocket Boy. This was prior to getting his Nintendo DS. Nintendo, Pocket Boy, Star wars, Books and Lego keeps him occupied for a long time. Typical Boy hun!!! Well, this is the journaling I have written around the layers.

3. I have used the ribbon which came along the kit to frame the photo and added layers of flowers at the corner.

4. I kept with the theme of circles from one of the papers. I used a transparency to cut out a circle and layered them under the grunge board skull. I also used Kindy Glitz (various colors) and made dots layers on the circle. I used another transparency circle under the flowers on the right hand side as a layer and used only Kindy Glitz Slick White to make dots along the perimeter.

5. I have used Tim Holtz's grunge board skull, inked it with Versa Color Black Ink and the eye socket with Versa Color Orange and the nostrils with Kindly Glitz Slick White. I love how it shoes the embossed swirls.

6. Flowers from Heidi Swapp, Green Tara, Prima and Bella. The alphas from American Craft Glitter Thickers. Journaling around the layers as mentioned before.

7. I then trimmed the white cardstock and layered it on the black card stock to pop out the layout as well as the black cardstock coordinates with the black turtleneck Tee in the photo.

Thanks for reading.

Here are some closeups.
