Basic Grey challenge #32 and Magnolia Challenge #9

Evening everybody,

I have today a card, I made for 2 challenges.

1, Basic Grey Challenge #32

Its a sketch from Christine. Click here to see the sketch.

2. Magnolia Challenge #9

The challenge is to "spot the dots".

And here is my take on both the challenge.

I have used Basic Grey Marrakech papers for this card and dry embossed red card stock using "Swiss Dot" embossing folder for the spots.

I have not added any sentiment as I want to customise the card when I need to.

Good evening everybody,

How are you all doing? I am fine thank you.

And this is my take on the sketch.

I have used Basic Grey Marrakech papers all distressed using edge distressor.Alphas from Pink Paislee, Stamps from Prima Marketing, Journalling sticker from Hambly Prints, arrow from Scenic Route dressed with crackle paint and buttons from spotlight.

Thats all I have today. Thanks for stopping by.

Good news and Sad news.........

Hey everybody,

How are you all? How is weekend? We are having a long weekend. Monday is also off for ANZAC day. My weekend has not been very good. My desktop, that I have had for past 5 years has died. My Dh and I have tried to improve it by adding RAM, changing a few parts. But it just died on me this morning. Very sad!!!!! It was very good for past 5 years.

So, until I get a new one, I am stuck with the laptop. Not that I don't like the laptop, but I liked my desktop better. The good news is I am getting an Apple desktop. Yay!!! Can't wait to get it and set up.

In the meantime, I made a card. A folding card.

Here it is!!!

Arrrrrrrgh!! my kids are fighting. Can't take it any longer. Too loud.
Will be back soon.
Hugs

Gayatri
P.S. : I did some editing and I lost my signature. Arrrrgh!! This is why I like my desktop. I know it better than the laptop.

Kaisercraft Grandiose papers

Evening everybody,

I was busy today.
Among other things that kept me busy, I also made a layout using
the new Kaiser Craft Grandiose paper.
I really like the colors of this range and I had the perfect photo too.
The photo was taken in March this year at Cadbury chocolate factory in Hobart, Tasmania.
The colors were awesome. Tasmania is a beautiful place for photography.Love the place.

Ok, without any delay, here is the layout.

Apart from Kaisercraft Grandiose papers, I have used Prima bling and flowers. Green Tara flowers, Kaisercraft felt swirls, Jeni Bowlin's bingo card and ticket, Pink Paislee alphas, Scrapbook blossoms leaves and computer generated journaling.

Sorry for a not so good photo. Today had been overcast, with thunderstorms.
So I took the photo indoors. Will take a better one and replace it if it is sunny tomorrow.

I have some more papers left. Will come up with one more layout using them.

Thanks for stopping by

More shares.........

Here I go again!! Two posts in one day!!!
My mojo is at its best for past one week!
Hope he does not run away.............

Well, this is my take on Chris's Challenge at Debscreations cybercrop.
Her challenge is to create a keychain or mini album.
Must have more than one page
Must have one photo
Must have a flower
Must has sparkle in some form
Must have a heart shape.
Can add more embellishments but the above must haves is a must.

This is for my daughter to hang on her school bag like a bag tag.
She loved it.
But I have a grumpy son who was complaining that "my DD gets it all the time and not him"
He wants to help me make one for him.
So one more to make by end of the weekend. lol!!!
This one below is card no:3 for Deb's cybercrop challenge.
I have used Sassa Lass papers for this card.
The chicky is from Fancy Pants-- the Kraft Krut diecuts.
Alpha from Pink Paislee
The Happy Birthday stamped image is from Amanda (Star)
from Uproar stamped image swapp.
I am very very sleepy.
In fact another 15 minutes, I will have to put match sticks under my eyelids
to make my eyelids to open like how Tom does in Tom and Jerry. lol!!!
Off to bed.

The wordings inside says it all.
Will give it to DH on a special occasion.Hehehe

Sharing cybercrop layouts

Hey everybody,

Good morning. Its Sunday 11.am for me. Still in my pyjamas. Woke up late and first thing I did today was to sit in front of the computer and checking Debscreations cybercrop chats lol!!!

I made 3 layouts yesterday but could not take photograph as the day was muggy.
It a little better day today. So quickly took photos of them.

The first one here is for Songbird Challenge by Skye.

This is the challenge:
You are to use the Chorus for your inspiration:

Everywhere I'm looking now
I'm surrounded by your embrace
Baby, I can see your halo
You know you're my saving grace
You're everything I need and more
It's written all over your face
Baby, I can feel your halo
Pray it won't fade away
I can feel your halo

----Halo by Beyonce

And here is my take on the challenge

I have used Basic Grey Archaic papers for this layout. Alphas are also from Basic Grey.
I made the bird and the cage from scratch using cardstock, distress ink and magic mesh. Similarly the owl and the branch with leaves and flowers.

The next challenge is from Lisa.

She gave us this picture and use this picture as inspiration for the layout.

And here is my take on the challenge.

I have used the color scheme as my inspiration as well as that it is a creative and unique place-the scraproom for making the layout.

Another Challenge is from Amanda

Here is the challenge:
..take 3 letters from your first name, choose colors that start with those letters and thats the colour combo to use on your LO..............no other restrictions.

Here is my take on the challenge.

I have used Rust for R, Yellow for Y and Tan for T and added Green for G as well.
I have used cardstocks, Sassalass papers and a few embellishment from Prima, BG and Tags from Kmart. Alphas from Pink Paislee. I really like the clean and simple look in this layout.

Woohoo!!! I managed 3 challenges yesterday.
I have a sketch, keychain and cards challenge left for today.
I am really really having fun. Love it

Warning! Its bright and glaring. Sunglasses essential.

I told you so, its BRIGHT.
But I like it.
This is the layout I made some time ago using
all the Kaisercraft papers leftover from other projects.
Yes, I had one or two papers from a few ranges and other bits and pieces.
Picked the ones that matches. I have combined, Fun fair, Fun in the sun, Lovestuck, Mumma Bushka, Sublime, Cabbage patch and Argentella ranges.
This layout inspired me to set the challenge for Debscreations cybercrop.
Brads are from Kaiser craft Fun in the sun.
Alphas from Pink Paislee.

Thanks for stopping by.

Will share more layouts later today.

Cybercrop on at Debs creations...

Hey everybody,

How is the weekend for you all?
If you are free, join us at Debscreations for the cybercrop.
There are 7 challenges, lots of chitter chatter and games.
You have until end of this month to finish all the challenges and load them in the gallery.
So give it a go.
I am having fun already.
My refreshes take a long time. So there is a lot of traffic there ladies.
Join the traffic and have fun.

I have set a challenge too.
I realized that after making a few layouts, I am left with one paper of various lines of Kaisercraft.
So my challenge is to mix different lines of Kaisercraft.
All the embellishment must be Kaisercraft.
Title is an exception. No cardstock to be used as well.

So ladies, get in and give it a go.

Will be back with more later...

Have a great weekend

Layout using Kaisercraft papers

Its Friday already? Days are going by fast. Really fast for me!!!
One week of school holidays already coming to an end.
10 more days left. Kids are enjoying at home.
Playing Wii, DS, riding their scooter, reading books,
friends coming over to play and of course, I do give then some work to do as well.
Yesterday, they cleaned the dining table.
It had everything from cups, tumblers, plates, Lego, books, pencils,
crayons, magazines, papers... I can go on and on.
Everytime I clean, its back to being messy in no time.
Now that they cleaned it yesterday, I can hear my son telling my daughter
to keep the place clear and vice versa. Aahaa... it works...
Last night my daughter helped me make some chapathis. She stood by the stove to flip the chapathis over on the pan. In ten minutes she drank 2 cups of cold water!! Why? its hot!! lol!!
Then she say," I don't know how you do it, mummy. Its very very hot here".
She made her own chapathis. Good start hun!! lol!!

On the scrapbooking front, I managed to make a layout.
Not for any competition or challenge but to use a certain color combo.
I don't think I ever used Pink and Blue combo.
I had the perfect papers with me.
Kaisercraft Lovestuck papers, I had received as a prize from Debscreations.

Its nice and bright. Eyecatching I think. I am starting to like these bright combos.
I always go for muted tones or if bright I like greens and oranges and reds.
I rarely use blue. But I like the color combo in this layout.
I am going to challenge myself and start using color combos normally I do not use.

Ok, if you are free tonight and on the weekend, join us at Debscreations for the cybercrop weekend. There will be lots of challenges, chatting and games. Come and join the fun.

Kaiser Craft April Simple Plan

Today, I wanted to attempt the April Simple Plan from Kaisercraft.
This is the Simple plan.

This is my take on the simple plan.

I have used Kaisercraft White Christmas paper as the base.
I have trimmed 2cm off on all 4 sides of the Bazzill bling brown card stock.
I have used a combination of Kaisercraft Vagabond and Reminiscing paper range.
Kaisercraft Argentella and Basics Definition rubons.
kaisercraft Chocolate and Sky blue color flowers
Kaisercraft Pearls and corner bling
Reminiscing Brad
Ribbon given to me by my friend Lexie.
Alpha from American Craft.
And Heidi Swapp flowers.
I liked the color combo in the layout. Its different to what I am used to.
Infact I had made a Mother 's day project for Aussie Pub call. Its not the usual color combination I am used to. But I am loving it being different from my usual style.
Trying new stuff. Very exciting.
OK, I want to watch Private Practice on TV.

Basic Grey Challenge #30 and ChrisW's challenge at Debs

Good morning everybody,

Today I made one card for two challenges.

1. Basic Grey Challenge #30

This week we would like you to take inspiration from your favourite Chocolates,
so say your favourite chocolate is Mint chocolate,
well you could then base the colours of your card on this
so your card would be Brown and Green :),
sounds scrumptious doesn't it,
i cant wait to see you chocolate inspired creations this week,
but please don't forget to use at least one item from Basic Grey on your creation.

2. Chris W's challenge at her blog.

Chris hand drew this girl below

We have to use this little girl on our cards.

Aaaaaaaand, here is my take on the both the challenges.

My favorite chocolate is Turkish Delight.
So I have used Brown and Pink. Mmm Yum!!!
The Basic Grey paper I have used is from Porcelain range.
I know I should not combine two challenge which is one of the rules in BG challenge blog.
This time I a bit busy. But I do not want to not do the challenge. So I combined both.
Oh!! I just read that its only when prizes are on offer. So its OK. Yay!!

Thanks for the opportunity both BG challenge blog as well as Chris W

I am not as innocent as I look!

Ok, one more post for today.
After 4 days of not scrapping, my hands were itching to scrap.
So I managed to make a layout for Renae's challenge at Debscreations.

Renae's challenge rules are:

Your LO must have at least 1/3 of stamping.
You must use 3 different pattern paper
There must be no flowers on the layout.

Love the rules. Simple and room for creativity.

Here is my take on the challenge:

Materials used:
* Brown cardstock
* Scalloped White cardstock
* Olive green Bazzill cardstock which is stamped using new Prima music
stamp and handtorn into a large rectangle and inked on the edges
using Black versa Color ink
* Cosmo Cricket - more fish in the sea papers
* Hambly Print Black graph paper
* Rusty Pickle title stickers
* Computer generated journalling strips
*Tim Holtz's Grungeboard Key hole distressed using Fire brick crackle
paint and Broken China distress ink and Black soot distress ink.
*Brads from my stash.

I enjoying making this layout because of the colors.
