Get Inspired - By Fashion

Moxie Fab World is having a series of challenges inspired by Get Inspired Magazine. Cath says "Its message is: Boost your creativity by relying on everyday items from which to jump-start your mojo."

The first everyday item is this

Looking at the houndtooth jacket, I am inspired by the houndstooth, the brooch and the color of the jacket.

I dry embossed houndstooth on a white cardstock and sponged Tim Holtz's Faded Jeans distress ink on the it. The ornate frame is from Kmart. The sentiment is from Mega Mixed Messages from Papertrey Ink. The blue cardstock is from Papertrey Ink too. The white cardstock is from Gina K. I like that the ornate frame brings everything together.

If you like to play, then here is the link to the challenge. This is just the first and there is more challenges to come. I am hoping to play all of them. Hope you too. Thanks for stopping by!

See you soon...

Warning! Lots of Photos...

Remember, I had shared a frame recently!!! If not here it is the Frame. I also said I made a set of cards using the some diecuts I found in a pile of pattern papers. Here are the cards.
Warning here are lots of photos!

I adore these cards. They are clean, simple but very cute, I think! Somebody special is getting this set for Christmas :)

This morning my son left for school camp for a week! Sent him off at the railway station and came back home and it felt weird and silent. All three of us were quiet. We miss him already and I don't know, it is going to be 7 slow days for me. This is his first time away from home too. I am sure he is going to have fun :) It is just me who is going to miss him. Can't wait for Friday to come.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week :)

Red and Rustic...

This is this Christmas card I made using Tuesday Trigger challenge called Red and Rustic.

I bought this black sparkly flourish from Kmart. I love it and there was only one left. I would not have bought it if there were many on the shelf. But when there is just one left I tend to buy it because I am unsure... What if I want it and it is all gone???????? lol! I buy lots of things like that Hehe!

Anyway, if you like to play the challenge, then click on the picture below.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Appreciate it:) Have a great weekend!

Made Fresh!

Hi again!

I have a birthday card today made fresh using Freshly Made Sketch #12.
Here is the sketch for you.

And my card...

All products used are from Papertrey Ink except the rhinestones, pattern paper and ribbon.
Rhinestones from Kaisercraft, pattern paper from Stampin' Up! and the ribbon from my stash.
I like the pink and green combination and was refreshing to do this combination after making a lot of Christmas based cards.

Another very hot day for me today. 36 degree celsius (hot hot!). Aircon is running but the moment it is turned off, you can feel the heat :(   Rain is predicted but not until 6 PM. Hoping the rain will help cool a bit.

Thanks once again for visiting :) Have a great weekend!

PTI Blog Hop- November 2011

Yes, it is PTI Blog Hop day once again. I look forward to the blog hop because its heaps of fun not only making and sharing but seeing what others create as well.
Here is the inspirational photo.

No surprise there, Christmas theme!!! I love the bows, gingham, snowflakes.. basically everything about it. But I chose to select the colors of red, wood, white and green with snowflakes, gingham and woodgrain as inspiration for my project below.

And here is a closeup of the sparkly snowflake focal point :)

Although I don't celebrate Christmas, I do gift friends. So this is a gift to a special friend :)  I love it. Hope she does too :) Looking for a box to wrap it  and it will be complete :)

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday.

Happy Hopping!

Fun Frame Decor!

Yesterday I was cutting all my old pattern papers into the panels of 5.25 X 4 inches size and among the pile of papers, I found some diecut sheets from Kraft Knuts. They are very old diecut sheets and the diecuts looked so cute. So I stopped cutting panels (dropping off one task to do another! Umm!) and played with the diecuts. I made a few cards as a gift set and also this frame.

I love the big tree and the rustic look of the whole frame. I think it will make a nice bedside table piece in any child's room. I crazy about making these frames lol! I have a pile of frames under my table which needs to be done.  I saw beautiful pink ornate frames in the TYPO shop in Perth for $5 and I am cross with myself for not buying them. Hope they have a website that I can go through and buy from....

Woke up again at 4.30 AM this morning and its 9.30 AM at the moment and I am sleepy. I need to have a power nap to get through the rest of the day. Thankfully I am not working today. Got to nap now.
See ya soon...

Happy Birthday!

Second post for today. I had sometime to play for this week's Make It Monday challenge at Papertrey Ink. Here is the link to the challenge and video- It is called Layered Background with Sentiment Stamps.

Here is my take on the challenge. I took a modern approach to the technique shown by Betsy.

I used stamps from PTI's Big Bold Wishes and Inside Out Birthday to stamp the background using half strength grey ink layered with full strength grey for Mums flowers from Year of flowers collection also from Papertrey Ink. I then cut out a colored version of Mums flowers to add a pop of color to the monochromatic background. Rhinestones for bling.  Love how it turned out. Hope you like it too :)
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great Wednesday :)

Masculine cards...

Hi everybody,
I am woken up again by my puppy at 4.30 am and we went for a long walk and just came back. Since rest of them are still sleeping, I can write up this post and share my cards. I made very clean and simple masculine cards yesterday. Here they are.

I found these pattern papers at a local shop and they were of travel theme. I love it because they are distressed. Perfect for masculine cards. Masculine Motifs from Papertrey Ink came to my mind when I ran through the papers and saw these two sheets. I came home and quickly made these cards before my idea is pushed back deep into my sub-conscience lol! Anyway, enjoy the cards and have a great day!

I am going to try Make It Monday - stamping background using sentiment stamps :) My desk is ready to go but first wake, prepare and send kids and hubby to school and work.
Thanks for stopping by!
